Monthly Yoga Nidra with Dani

If you find it hard to switch off, this class is for you! We all need more rest especially before the holidays. Achieving this however can be very challenging for most of us, especially if you find it hard to relax, to fall asleep or to stay asleep. This Yoga for Deep Rest class aims to support your body to learn to relax fully, so the mind and body soften to allow the nervous system settle.

This class is about enabling you to let go of physical and mental stress and encourage your sympathetic nervous system (fight, flight freeze) to dial down and your parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest) to dial up - promoting balance and helping you to reset.

You will be guided into a few very supportive asanas to relax the body and then you will be guided through a Yoga Nidra mediation enhanced with essential oils. A special place of sleepless sleep where you just listen to your internal pulse of just being.

Danielle Locastro

Danielle Locastro, usually known as Dani, is a professional artist and a certified yoga instructor. She has been exploring her connection to something greater than herself her entire life through her art. She initially came to the mat 17 years ago as a way back to health after a near death experience during childbirth. When she started practicing with Charles Matkin and Lisa Bennet, she knew that this practice was transformative. The first time she moved her body and breath in a yoga class for her was like drawing, praying and painting. It too would be part of her life’s practice to maintain a healthy, mind, body, and spirit connection.

In 2013 Dani starting teaching after achieving her teacher certification, in the Raja Hatha Style of Yoga under Amy Pearce-Hayden. Her focus is on alignment with a dash of creative expression so that yoga on and off the mat is accessible for everybody. She works weekly in a variety of Hudson Valley Studios such as Elevate Yoga & Barre, Encourage, All Sport Fitness and Ascend Studio in her hometown of Cold Spring. In addition she works with numerous private clients to maintain wellness, promote balance, improve quality of life and explore creative expression.

Hudson Valley 5Rhythms

Hudson Valley 5Rhythms at Ascend Collective

Second Saturday and last Saturday Every Month from 5pm - 6:30pm

Led by Peter Fodera, Stephanie Diamond and other Guest Teachers

5Rhythms is a dance practice created by the dancer/musician Gabrielle Roth in which participants gather in a supportive community, dancing instinctively to music, guided by a certified teacher/DJ. It is a combination between group meditation and dancing with the ecstatic abandon of someone who is absolutely certain they are all alone, but instead are in a supportive community. Wherever the 5Rhythms are practiced, a community is born to dance, to sweat, to change, to support, and to provide a brave space for each of us to shatter the ego’s hold and awaken the juicy, unpredictable, fascinating, edge-walking, rock star part of ourselves that yearns to be free.

The 5Rhythms are: Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness. Classes last two hours. They begin slow, the pace pick ups in the middle and end with a slow unwinding.

Wear clothes you can move in, dance barefoot or with indoor sneakers, bring a water bottle and your open heart. This is a drug and alcohol free practice.

Katya is a clinical herbalist with more than 12 years of experience. She is a naturopath, plant wellness educator, and founder of the organic herbal wellness line Warmicita Herbals (www.warmicitaherbals.com, IG @warmicitaherbals).

Katya sees clients for a host of acute and chronic health concerns.

Inner Landscape Workshop Facilitated by Coco & MC Giroux

Inner Landscape Workshop Facilitated by Coco & MC Giroux

A 4-Hour Immersive Experience Through Breath, Art, and Sound

Join sister duo MC and Coco Giroux for a deeply nourishing 4-hour workshop retreat, where the practices of Holotropic-style breathwork, non-objective art expression, and sound meditation come together in a transformative and heart-centered container. This immersive experience invites participants to become co-creators of the space, where deep listening, presence, and mutual respect are of the essence.

The workshop begins with a grounding opening circle. Here, participants are guided to connect with themselves and each other through mindful presence. With gentle facilitation, everyone sets a personal intention for the experience—creating a powerful energetic blueprint for what is to come.

Guided by MC and Coco, participants engage in a Holotropic-inspired breathwork session, using conscious, connected breathing to enter a liminal state of awareness. This altered state of consciousness supports emotional release, expanded perception, and inner clarity.

Once the liminal state is accessed, the experience flows organically into non-objective art creation. This process is not about technique or aesthetics, but about allowing theunconscious to speak through color, shape, and form. Participants are encouraged to stay attuned to their inner state, giving expression to what is present without judgment.

Meanwhile, subtle sound frequencies and teachings on the mechanics of sound and consciousness are woven into the space, seeding the creative brain and amplifying intuitive insight. After the art practice, the group transitions into a deep sound meditation. Using a blend of instruments, tones, and resonant frequencies, this session is designed to carry participants into unexplored inner landscapes. With the support of intentional sound, you are invited to access parts of yourself that may remain hidden in ordinary states of awareness.

The final portion of the workshop is a gentle return. Participants gather to share their experiences over tea and light snacks, allowing for integration, grounding, and connection. There’s space for reflection, sharing insights, or simply being in the quiet company of others.

Hudson Valley 5Rhythms

Hudson Valley 5Rhythms at Ascend Collective
New Summer Schedule!

Saturday, June 28th, 5 - 8 p.m. and Saturday, July 12th, 5 - 8 p.m.
Both classes will include a mini workshop element. No classes in August. The regular schedule will resume in September-2nd and last Saturdays 5-6:30 p.m. Led by Stephanie Diamond and other Guest Teachers.
