Join herbalist Katya Varlamova for a heart-centered evening of connecting with comfrey (Symphytum officinale)—a beloved ally in the herbal tradition, often called “knitbone” for its age-old reputation in supporting the healing of tissues and bones.
Together, we will take time to commune with the spirit of comfrey, learning its qualities, gifts, and the ways it has been honored as a plant of deep regeneration and resilience.
Katya will guide participants in creating a luxurious and soothing healing salve made of comfrey, calendula and lavender, offering hands-on learning in traditional herbal preparation.
This workshop is both an introduction to comfrey’s profound plant medicine and a chance to connect with herbal craft in community.
You’ll leave not only with your own jar of handmade healing salve, but also with a renewed relationship to one of nature’s true healers.
No prior herbal experience is required. All materials will be provided.
Cost: $40
Katya is a clinical herbalist with more than 12 years of experience. She is a naturopath, plant wellness educator, and founder of the organic herbal wellness line Warmicita Herbals (www.warmicitaherbals.com, IG @warmicitaherbals).
Katya sees clients for a host of acute and chronic health concerns. She uses herbal medicine from a variety of traditions as well as highest quality natural supplements to help bring her clients' health to its optimum level. Katya works closely with her clients to identify the true cause of health challenges. She uses muscle testing and dynamic kinesiology as added techniques to shed light on the true origins of health patterns. Her work takes a very holistic approach, and sometimes the path to true wellness calls for shifts in non-physical realms, such as emotional, psychological, energetic or spiritual aspects of being. Katya then uses flower essences, gem elixirs, guided meditation, inner child work, ritual and breath work, to encourage and nurture the process of inner transformation. Diet, lifestyle, digestion, sleep, energy levels and connection with nature are always considered.
Katya welcomes in-person clients in NYC and in the Hudson Valley (at Ascend in Cold Spring NY.) Zoom sessions are also available. She offers single sessions, as well as 1 and 3-month health partnership programs.
Katya hosts plant walks, women’s circles, and teaches plant medicine classes and retreats in NYC, the Hudson Valley, Europe and the Amazon.
